A New Year brings on many old wives tales, traditions, and beliefs that may not be rooted in history, but they are fun to think about, say, or take part in. One of the better known New Year’s old wives tale says that if the first person to enter your home after the New Year is a man, you’ll have a wonderful year and you’ll be blessed by good luck. This same old wives tale says that if a woman is the first person to enter your home during the New Year, your year will be filled with bad luck.
